Art painting tips and techniques from Sara Sherwood
Painting tip 1. Just have a go and see what happens, don’t wait for inspiration just paint. It is only a canvas or piece of paper and there are plenty more, you can throw it if you do not like it and have another go. Now you are free to begin! Leave any fear about the outcome behind you.
Painting tip 2. Get messy, play with the paint, pastel or pencil, see what it can do. Use your hands, brushes, ends of brushes, sponges, fingernails any thing you pick up, see what happens. Most of my techniques have been developed this way. This will lead you to find your own style. Never be afraid to start again, re-paint an art image.
Tip 3 Christian Faith Tips
On a deeper level this painting was about healing. I met a man who said “I used the stars as stepping stones to cross the universe to find you.” I loved him. The relationship ended, but I knew worldly joy. “I then met another man who died for me. His name was Jesus Christ” `he said to me “I will not leave or forsake you.” He offers eternal joy. Hebrews 13:5 and Deuteronomy 31:8 and Joshua 1:5
NIV UK Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’
NIV UK “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
NIV UK “No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Tip 3. When you are painting hold the intention of what you create will be beautiful, know that blessings come from God and ask for His help if you need it! Be positive whatever your faith. Tip 4. Enjoy the process rather than focus on the outcome. www.sarasherwood.co.uk
My handmade jewellery captures my mind as it twists and turns. Making jewellery keeps me at peace.
